In general, Lendis customers are obliged to report any damage to rented Lendis products (assets) to Lendis immediately (see Lendis Terms and Conditions, section 5).
If damage has or defects occur, please contact Lendis Support (support@lendis.de) as soon as possible. Lendis can then quickly take care of the repair and clarify who is liable for the damage.
What happens if damage is only discovered after the return?
If a Lendis customer returns electronic devices to our electronics partner, the following happens:
1. after delivery: Our refurbishment partner checks the consignment for completeness after delivery and compares the serial numbers.
2) Lendis confirms receipt of the goods or notifies the customer of incorrectly returned products/different serial numbers. Lendis and the customer then clarify how the discrepancy came about.
3. technical inspection: Our refurbishment partner checks all products sent in for damage and missing accessories (e.g. power supply units) within the next 3-4 weeks. Password locks by users or failure to log out of iCloud (for Apple devices) are considered a total loss.
If our partner detects damage/missing accessories during the technical inspection, Lendis will send the customer a document. This lists the damage in damage categories ("grading categories" or grades). Prices are assigned to the respective categories.
Important: Some costs can be avoided - please note the following information on the obligation to return accessories (especially power supply units), and on locked devices:
- All Lendis products must be returned with original accessories.
This includes: Cables, chargers, remote controls, pens, adapters, keycards and keys etc. - Notebooks, smartphones and tablets must not be locked by passwords, PINs, IDs, MDM locks (MDM = Mobile Device Management) or similar
- The above applies to devices locked with Apple activation lock, which must be deactivated by the user by switching off "Where is?" - otherwise an Apple device can no longer be used (= total loss).
The document sent out after technical inspection can look like this, for example:
Note: As a rule, Lendis considers grades A and B as normal signs of use/wear and tear during the rental period. Only damage in grades C and D will be invoiced at cost.
